A Moment of Weakness
I just upped my "number of books purchased since August 2008" to two. Damn, that whole library thing was going so well until yesterday, when it totally failed me. I had to run a couple of errands before my afternoon plans, which included a stop at the library to return some books and magazines and to check out a couple of new books on my to-read list. To my surprise the library, which is normally open on Saturdays, was closed. I was shocked and disappointed. Then I got over it...Or so I thought. Later in the day, I unexpectedly found myself at the bookstore for a bit and absolutely could not stop myself from purchasing a book. I tried, I even put it down and walked away from it. But then I went back, picked it up and walked to the checkout line. Damn, that closed library totally messed with me. So, my book-buying average right now is .33 books per month. I guess that doesn't sound so bad. A lot better than what it used to me!
